I am the luckiest man on this planet. That is what I tell myself every day since I married my Thai sweetheart. Only in my wildest dreams could I even imagine such a perfect relationship.

A couple years ago I came across an online social site. The site talked about meeting a girl in a far away land like the orient. My first thought was how could I meet a girl in another country let alone communicate with her? All I knew how to speak was English.

To my surprise there were many girls from China, Vietnam, & Thailand who spoke at least a little English. I began to embrace the thought of, what if, what if I meet a girl and we fell in love? So, excited as I was I began to say hello and chat a little online. Within the very first day I could see that some of the girls came across as childish and liked to play flirty games, I knew that's not the kind of girl I was looking for.

I was absolutely dead set on the type of girl I wanted. I wanted a girl who was sincere, honest, responsible, and more then anything had the biggest heart filled with love, patience and respect for her self and others. OK, so that is a tall order, but to put it into perspective I simply wanted a girl who would accept all the love I possess and would love me in return no matter what for the rest of our lives.

On the second day of looking on this site I was browsing through photos of girls that just joined. I thought that was even better to find a girl who had not been on the site long. If there is a way to see how long that person has been a member is always better and by the way they talk to you, you have a good chance of telling whether or not that person is indeed serious about finding a relationship or simply playing games.

Suddenly one picture jumped out at me. I could not take my eyes off of her. She looked different. Yes, there were many very beautiful girls but this girl didn't look like some one that would get all the attention yet she was captivating. Looking at her, I could see more then her outward appearance. There was something from the inside that was clearly visible from the outside. My curiosity got the best of me. Could this be the one I have been searching for? There was obviously something different about her, I was captivated by her and it was a wonderful feeling.

In amazement I looked as if in a daze, then I would read a little of her profile to get to know her. But the words I read said nothing about her in relation to what I was seeing in her face. Without hesitation I wrote her a note to say hello, and asked her if she wanted to become friends.

The next day I received her reply. She had told me, yes I would like very much to be your friend and I hope you are a good man who will love the woman faithfully forever. After reading those words my heart felt bigger then ever before. It was obvious she was there to find a serious relationship and not for games like so many others.

Right at that moment I decided to give this a chance and that is when I focused on her and her alone. I had to know more about her. I had to find out if her idea of love was similar to mine. I had to know if she was the girl I had been searching for all my life and I was committed to the challenge to find out, whatever it took.

Now moving through time at what seems like light speed, it has been a year and a half and we are married and together here in the USA. Happy is a wonderful word but it does not come close to explaining the true joy we bring each other.

There are many more wonderful girls in Thailand and I could only wish that they are lucky enough to find a really great guy who would consider them for a lifetime relationship. It is worth every journey across the oceans and the months of being apart in the process to bring such a precious love together. I would do it all over again, but I am so happy I don't have to.
